“It’s so sad to say goodbye so suddenly – I never took the opportunity to tell her, but she really shaped me so much as a person – on and off the screen. She was adamant herself – razor sharp wit – silver tongue – kind and warm hearted – she had no fools but she had time for everyone – thanks for lighting the way forward and holding my hand when I needed it xx. ‘

Additionally, Jason Isaacs, who played Narcissa’s husband Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter, also remembered her in a long message on his IG account.

The actor shared the same picture as Tom, writing in part: “Decades ago Helen and I auditioned for a film together. I came home and said to Emma, ”I think I’ve just met the greatest actress I’ve ever seen.” After years of watching her fascinate all viewers, I don’t think anymore that … I know. Fortunately, I eventually found out she was funny too, shockingly naughty, and with such a sensitive heart the size of a planet. As fast as I was in the Harry Potter films, being married to the great Helen McCrory will always be a highlight. ‘

He went on to send condolences to Helen’s loved ones.
