Will Pedro Pascal return for The Mandalorian season three?

Pedro Pascal in Mandalorian Season 3

Pedro Pascal has at least provided Mando’s voice since The Mandalorian began. While he’s not always the man in the suit, the actor is a huge part of the show. As such, Pascal will actually return for another round of bounty hunter-related gimmicks in a galaxy far, far away. But he will be without his loyal companion, Grogu, aka Baby Yoda. That means the dynamics are changed in the middle of the show up to that point. Anyway, we are still ready to follow Din Djarin as he traverses the galaxy.

Grogu is with Luke Skywalker in the third season of The Mandalorian

Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian Season 3

The Mandalorian season two finale dropped a real bombshell on fans. Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill (aged with digital effects), made a glorious return to Star Wars. Mando and his crew were rescued by the Jedi who miraculously dismantled the Dark Troopers. More importantly, he took Grogu into his care to train him in the ways of the Jedi. The trip we were on for two full seasons effectively ended. Grogu is with Luke now. While that doesn’t necessarily mean the fan-favorite character won’t show up in Season 3, it could very well be the case. And if Grogu comes back, that probably means we’ll see more of Luke Skywalker. Either way, Baby Yoda is now with Luke and that is going to radically change the dynamic.

After controversial social media posts, Disney and Lucasfilm have fired Gina Carano from the series. In addition, she will no longer appear in future Star Wars projects. While Cara Dune won’t be back in The Mandalorian season three, we can probably expect other familiar faces. However, it remains to be seen who will be back specifically. The options are plentiful, however. Moff Gideon by Giancarlo Esposito, Greef Carga by Carl Weathers, Fennec Shand by Ming-Na Wen, and Boba Fett by Temuera Morrison seem like sensible options. It’s also about Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan, who isn’t done with Mando yet, and Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, who is getting her spin-off series.

Will the Mandalorian season three go to Mandalore?

Mandalore in Mandalorian Season 3

The Darksaber changed hands again in the finale of the second season of The Mandalorian. Because Din Moff defeated Gideon in battle, he became the rightful owner of the weapon. However, Bo-Katan intended to defeat Moff Gideon herself so that she could become the rightful ruler of Mandalore. This created tensions between Mando and Bo-Katan that were not resolved. At least we will likely pick up on this thread in Season 3. Given some speculation, it seems plausible, if not likely, that we’ll actually visit Mandalore in the coming season. It would allow fans to explore the planet in live action and build on the ever-evolving lore surrounding the Mandalorians.

Rian Johnson from the Last Jedi wants to direct an episode of The Mandalorian

Rian Johnson Directed as episode of the third season of The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian has enabled a diverse stable of directors to explore a galaxy far, far away. Dave Filoni was finally able to try his hand at live action. Bryce Dallas Howard was a great director, and Taika Waititi got a Star Wars film after directing the first season finale. It turns out that Rian Johnson, who previously directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi, wants to direct an episode of the series. Johnson is on deck creating a new trilogy of films as well, though little has moved on that front in a while. If he’s directing a season three episode, it could all boil down to planning. Johnson is currently preparing to lead Knives Out 2 and that could get in the way. But if they manage to do it, Johnson might well return to the franchise via The Mandalorian.

The razor coat of arms was destroyed. Will Mando get a new ship?

Destroyed razor crest in The Mandalorian

As fans will likely remember, Mando’s trusted ship, the Razor Crest, was wrecked in Season 2. It was torn to pieces by what was left of the Empire. As such, it appears that the razor crest will not return in season 3. So this begs the question of whether Din will cross the galaxy in a new ship. That remains to be seen. What we know for sure is that the now iconic ship will no longer be Mando’s preferred ship in the future unless it’s rebuilt from scratch, effectively making it the Razor Crest 2.0.

Will the Mandalorian season three have Wookiees?

This ventures into the rumored territory, but reports suggest that Wookiees will be part of the action in Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Up until that point, the show had featured some iconic alien species, which would make sense. It remains unclear what role the creatures would play. It’s also not clear if we’ll see famous Wookiees like Chewbacca, although that seems unlikely. Maybe Mando will take a trip to Kashyyyk? We will see.

When does the third season of The Mandalorian start filming?

The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to be filmed this year. Especially because of the upcoming spin-offs The book by Boba FettProduction wasn’t picking up speed as quickly as expected. The show is currently slated to begin production in April once The Book of Boba Fett finishes filming. Filming is expected to take place in Los Angeles, California. Given that the show uses an advanced sound stage surrounded by screens capable of projecting real world environments known as The Volume, there is less need to travel for filming purposes. Most of this can be done in one place.

What is the Mandalorian Season 3 release date?

With The Book of Boba Fett expected to be out in December, the Mandalorian season three will not appear on Disney + in 2021. The first two seasons were broadcast almost exactly one year apart. Disney will break this pattern for season 3, however. The show is expected to come out sometime in 2022.

When will the trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian be released?

The first trailer for season two of The Mandalorian debuted on Disney + about a month before the show returned. Since Disney releases most of its shows from week to week, there is no need to post a trailer months in advance as you might with a Star Wars movie.
