According to the franchise star, the Expendables 4 could finally start filming this year Randy Couture. Three Expendables films were released between 2010 and 2014, each with Sylvester Stallone leading a cast of the fans’ favorite action film heroes. In all three episodes, Couture was demolition expert Toll Road, and if he has his way, he’ll be back in a fourth film as well.
In a recent interview with The Jenna Ben Show, couture was asked about the status of The consumables 4that has been rolling around in development hell for several years. Couture makes it clear that a previous script that was supposed to be used for the sequel has been scrapped, but that a new script is currently in the works. Better still, the plan Couture heard from his agent is that the film is expected to be shot in the fall.
“It sounds like we have to do it [The Expendables 4]. They’ve been trampling on it for a couple of years, but I only recently heard from my agent that they were working on the script for [EX4] and they plan to schedule Expendables 4 filming for next fall. So I haven’t seen the script yet. They had one they talked about making Expendables 4 out of it a few years ago and then [the previous script] come away, you just never know, it’s such a strange business sometimes … ”
Couture also describes what it was like to work with the cast on The Expendables, citing Sly Stallone and the crew as “an amazing group of people to learn from, to be with and have fun with”. There is no question that if The Expendables 4 really starts filming this fall, it will be an easy yes for couture to return to the franchise, as the MMA fighter and actor says nothing but positive things about his Expendables experience in the interview has to say.
Written by Sylvester Stallone and based on characters created by David Callaham, The Expendables franchise cast also includes other notable names such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Bruce Willis, Steve Austin, Chuck Norris and Liam Hemsworth Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ronda Rousey, Wesley Snipes, Antonia Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson.
Production of The Expendables 4 was already underway in 2014, and at some point Pierce Brosnan announced that he would be part of the cast. The project on this iteration was unfortunate after behind-the-scenes issues caused Stallone, Schwarzenegger, and Crews all to walk away from the sequel. Stallone would later announce his return to the project in 2018, but the film still hasn’t done anything but spin its wheels since then. It remains to be seen whether this new script in development will really lead to The Expendables 4 being filmed this year.
Couture was last seen in the Netflix film The Hard Way, which was released in 2019. After The Expendables 3, he was also seen on the TV shows Hawaii Five-0, Hell’s Kitchen and Impractical Jokers. This message comes to us from the Jenna Ben Show.
