"Although my tenure was only supposed to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected your SNL President … comedy 's highest duty" Jim Carrey tweeted ahead of the Saturday night episode. Although my tenure was only supposed to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected your SNL President … comedy's ultimate duty. I would love to go ahead and know that Biden was the winner for nailing this shit. But I'm only one in a long line of proud fighting SNL Bidens!

Hours later, Alex Moffat debuted his version of Biden in the Cold Open segment of the new episode. In the sketch, Beck Bennett forges Mike Pence, who is receiving the COVID vaccine. Rudolph also appears as Harris and introduces Biden, who comes out from behind a curtain. Then Moffats Biden shuffles out with a stick and an orthopedic boot, a nod to the President-elect's broken foot while playing with his dog.

"You look a bit different," says Bennett when Pence says to the new Biden.

"Yes. I'm like Colonel Sanders, every time you see me I'm a different guy," replies Biden. "There's a good chance I'll be Mario Lopez around this time next year. Now where are the vaccines?"

Moffats Biden then mentions how Rudolph insisted he get his vaccination too, and the vice-president-elect replied, "I'm worried about you, Joe, especially since you're in office by minus 40 on the day." "

Biden then explains his plans to put together "the most diverse cabinet in the history of American politics." Harris steps in and says, "And I'll make sure Joe never specifies what he means by" diverse. "This is my Christmas present for you, America."

"Or when you're celebrating Kwanzaa," Biden begins, telling Harris to knock him off the stage before the president-elect can say anything more.

Biden was played by former actor Jason Sudeikis at SNL for many years. He was also played by special guests Woody Harrelson and John Mulaney. In the meantime, Rudolph Harris has consistently portrayed Harris since last year and managed to win an Emmy for the recurring role. Baldwin, who also won an Emmy for his position on Trump, tweeted after the presidential election results that he had never been "so overjoyed to have lost a job before," suggesting he may be done with the portrayal too .

Kristen Wiig moderated the SNL episode on Saturday evening with Dua Lipa as the musical guest. Other host and musical guest combinations so far this season include Dave Chappelle and Foo Fighters, Issa Rae and Justin Bieber, and Chris Rock and Megan Thee Stallion. Season 46 of the series will return with new episodes in 2021. The video of the cold open sketch comes to us from Saturday Night Live on YouTube.
