Netflix is bringing Selena Quintanilla back to the stage next month. The second part of Selena: The series will start streaming service on Tuesday, May 4th – a full 10 days before the previously announced date – TVLine has learned.
Based on the life of the legendary Tejano singer, told as a film with Jennifer Lopez in the title role in 1997, Netflix’s version plays Christian Serratos (The Walking Dead) as the Mexican maker and shaker.
Part 1, which consisted of nine episodes, premiered on December 4, 2020. With the series’ jumps in time, the finale ended with Suzette and Abraham – Quintanilla’s sister and father, respectively – discovering their relationship with Chris Pérez (played by Jesse Posey), which resulted in him being kicked off their tour.
Selena: The cast of the series also includes Madison Taylor Baez as young Selena, Gabriel Chavarria as AB Quintanilla, Juan Martinez as young AB, Ricardo Chavira as Abraham Quintanilla, Brandol Ruiz as young Abraham, Noemi Gonzalez as Suzette Quintanilla, Daniela Estrada as young Suzette , Seidy López as Marcella Quintanilla and Aneasa Yacoub as the young Marcella.
