New Star Trek movie is coming in 2023

It’s been five years since the last one Star Trek Movie theater. However, it seems the wait could almost be over. Paramount mixed up a release date earlier this week that includes an untitled Star Trek movie for 2023. There has been a lot of talk about what the next big movie adventure might be for the franchise, including a film starring Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine. along with a Quentin Tarantino project, which seems to have evaporated despite generating massive hype. Did Tarantino really ever want to make a Star Trek movie?

Paramount has set June 9, 2023 as the release date for the upcoming Star Trek movie. Unfortunately, this is where the new information stops. According to i09, this project is not what Kalinda Vazquez, producer and writer of Star Trek: Discovery, is currently developing with JJ Abrams. The above movie is believed to be still in development, but it has nothing to do with the new movie Paramount is planning. However, Abrams is also believed to be a producer on the top secret 2023 project.

In a new interview, Spock actor Zachary Quinto revealed that he would be more than happy to return for the long rumor Star Trek 4. The actor also said that he has moved away from the idea that ever happened because it is currently out of his hands. Quinto continued, “You never know things will come back in surprising ways and there are surprising times and it could be fun when it happens.” The new project that is morphing into Star Trek 4 is obviously unclear right now, and the release date could be postponed at some point in the future.

Large studios have been known to claim a release weekend before a proper script has been written, which could well be the case with this untitled 2023 Star Trek project. Some longtime fans of the franchise have been looking forward to a full franchise restart for something very similar to the original TV series. Others hope to see Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto again to end their story. Perhaps the film is the one Quentin Tarantino was originally attached to. Regardless, it seems Paramount could be gearing up for something pretty massive for the fans.

There was also talk of a large, interconnected universe where Paramount + is the home of Star Trek. Marvel Studios is currently thriving with its Disney + partnership, which has already introduced fans to WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Bringing it all together, both large and small screens, could be something Paramount is aiming for, although this has not yet been officially confirmed at this point. i09 was one of the first companies to cover the mysterious new Star Trek movie 2023.
