Game of Thrones is arguably the most successful TV show of the last decade. It beat an Emmys record by receiving 32 nominations for its most recent run, the most ever given for a single season. At the 2019 Emmys, Game of Thrones won the Outstanding Drama Series award and won 11 other trophies.
However, season one actor Jason Momoa didn't benefit much from the initial Game of Thrones boom.
This week he announced that his brief stint as Khal Drogo did not give him the fame and fortune his co-stars would later experience. Hailed as one of the best book-to-TV adaptations, the HBO fantasy series has skyrocketed its star careers Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington.
But Momoa said to InStyle on Tuesday November 10th, "I mean, we were starving for Game of Thrones."
