According to Kevin Feige, WandaVision almost had an odd cameo doctor

While the cameo would have been cool, the addition of Strange would have taken Wanda away.

Although WandaVision was already full of cameos and surprises, we almost got one more in the form of Benedict CumberbatchDoctor strange. In an interview with Rolling Stone about the oral tradition of WandaVision, the President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige revealed that Marvel originally contracted the actor to appear on the show’s final episode. However, this episode was eventually rewritten for a very specific reason.

“Some people might say,” Oh, it would have been so cool Dr. Strange to see, “said Feige.” But it would have taken something away from Wanda that we didn’t want. We didn’t want the end of the show to be the next film – here’s the white one: “Let me show you how power works. “WandaVision Creator Jac Schaeffer said that at some point the in-universe commercials would also be messages from Strange to Wanda, and even Cumberbatch would appear in one of those ads.

WandaVision was already busy Kathryn Hahn‘s Agatha Harkness to the funny cameo of Evan Peters as Pietro alias Ralph Bohner. The ending was wonderfully teasing Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness without giving too much away or being too insane. Since the final episode of WandaVision had to be rewritten to remove Strange, the movie also had to be changed. In the end, says Feige, Marvel’s process is “a wonderful combination of very committed coordination and chaos. Chaos magic. “While we don’t know much about Doctor Strange’s storyline in the Multiverse of Madness, in the second ending credits scene of WandaVision’s finale, Wanda sees the Darkhold reading and further delving into dark magic.

Dr. Strange in the Multiversum of Madness will hit theaters on March 25, 2022. WandaVision is currently streamed on Disney +.
